Fletcher/Forgy Backed Webb-Edgington Defeats McConnell-Backed White For GOP Nomination

A huge victory for the Larry Forgy camp over Mitch McConnell's Louisville liberals today. Northern Kentucky will be huge for the GOP Senate primary since Forgy will likely carry central Kentucky by a huge margin and McConnell will be favored in his hometown of Louisville. However, it looks like northern Kentucky is trending towards Forgy as his favored candidate for the Jan. 8 special election to the State House defeated another Mitch McConnell puppet:

Webb-Edgington was chosen by a secret ballot of the Kenton County Republican Party Executive Committee. She is running for the Kenton County suburban seat vacated by Edgewood Republican Jon Draud, who on Monday became Kentucky Education Commissioner.

She was nominated over former Kenton County Commissioner Steve Arlinghaus – a surprise, late entry into the mix – and Kelly White, a former aide to Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.
